Experience with the work you do
Veterans and emergency first responders face distinct challenges. You give valuable service to the community, often in complex and demanding situations that can be personally difficult. Through my work with clients at the Repatriation General Hospital and with South Australia Police, I have gained real insight into those challenges — and you won't need to explain or soften the job for my sake.
What I help with
I offer evidence-based psychotherapy for the psychological impacts that can come with public service, including:
- post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and critical-incident stress
- depression and anxiety
- substance misuse
- relationship strain
- burnout and the cumulative toll of high occupational stress
Seeking help early matters. It can prevent difficulties from becoming entrenched, support recovery, and help restore your capacity for work and everyday life.
Currently serving or stepped away
You are welcome whether you are currently serving, on leave, or have left the role. We go at whatever pace feels right, and there is no need to have the words ready before you come in.
Common questions
Is what I say confidential from my employer?
Yes, within the legal limits I explain at your first session. If your sessions are funded through a WorkCover claim or an employer program, some information such as attendance and progress reports goes to the funder — I will explain exactly what before we start.
Do you see veterans under DVA?
Veterans and current serving members are welcome. Mention DVA when you get in touch and I will confirm how your sessions are funded.
Can I come if I've left the service?
Yes. Many people seek help after they have stepped away from the role, sometimes years later.
